Agents who blog

Hi
I have been scouting around for agents lately and noticed an encouraging (perhaps) trend--those with blogs. They seem to be more accessible--readily accept submissions. Many want "5 pages" weird and arbitrary number.
Read the Writers Book of Hope by Keyes, he made some good points about "pub people" and how they need us more than we need them. Not to be too "submissive." Ha. Working on that.

This is January now and I noticed more and more new agents getting into the blogging business. The interesting thing about it is they are holding mini contests. One of the purposes, being discussed by writers. is it's a sneaky way of reading first pages or sample queries hoping to find a treasure without going the usual route. It's also great for newbie agents to get their name out there. I kind of like that!
