The Mills of God (shameless promotion!)
« on: January 06, 2007, 12:51:48 PM »

Hello all, and Happy New Year!

I just published my first novel, a new-age murder-mystery entitled "The Mills of God".

One-line synopsis (the logline from the screenplay version):

An orphaned heiress struggles to survive after past-life memories reveal a conspiracy to seize her family's fortune — a conspiracy spanning two lifetimes that involves murdering her and everyone she loves.

The book cover:

Justin,

Congratulations!  I have much interest in past and future lives, as well as mysteries, so I'll look for your book in Portland (Oregon) this weekend.

Justin,

Hearty congratulations on your new novel.

And I gather that you're new to MWF.  Welcome to the list.  Why not go to the "Welcom Wagon" thread in "CHAT" in tell us all a bit more about yourself, and learn about some of us.

Congratulations.  The cover looks a bit like Breughel. Anything to do with that time  or the Netherlands?

It's set in the near future, but the picture ("The Hay Wain" by Hieronymus Bosch) is oddly relevant to the story and a kind of metaphor for what happens.

I've been trying to persuade bookstores to stock it and have commitments from a few Barnes and Noble stores in the Philadelphia area. I've managed to schedule book-signings in Lancaster and Devon, PA.

Aha, Bosch.  It was a toss-up between him and Breughel.  Fascinating examples of the human imagination.

May your book do well.

Thanks for your good wishes!

I'm finding that the process of getting a published book reviewed and into bookstores is very much like that of getting a manuscript into print.

Failte, Justin to MWF and congrats on the book. Any word if it is to be published in Ireland or the UK?

Distributed in the UK or Ireland? Not at the moment. We're still focusing on getting it distributed in the US. I noticed that it is listed on  Amazon.uk.co, though.
