And so was Olen Steinhauer's Liberation Movements.  I've long been an admirer of Olen's books, which are set in the Communist bloc countries and highly atmospheric.  And Olen needs the encouragement.  And the readers.  It's really pathetic to see what books make the bestseller lists while the good stuff getxs sidelined.  Pah!

Right you are Ingrid,
The other nominees deserve mentioning as well. A breech of manners on my part:

The Faithful Spy by Alex Berenson (Random House)
Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn (Crown - Shaye Areheart Books)
King of Lies by John Hart (St. Martin's Minotaur - Thomas Dunne Books)
Holmes on the Range by Steve Hockensmith (St. Martin's Minotaur)

Cornelia rocks - I'm so excited for her I can't stand it!  Great book, great person.
