Black Arrow

Well I suppose it's BSP.  The first reviews are in.  PW gives it a starred review, and Kirkus is also very flattering.  I love reviews.

I should add that this novel has met with major rejections in earlier years (most recently from St. Martin's Press).  :)  So don't give up on your books.

A starred PW review? And a flattering review from Kirkus?? Holy moly -- where's that corkscrew, it's time to celebrate!

Congratulations, Ingrid!

Wow, Ingrid!  We're all blown away by the flattering review from Kirkus!  At least I am. Anyway, great to hear the once scorned manuscript is doing well as a book! :)

Thanks, all.  I especially like the huge chorus of smileys.

Kirkus has, I think, mellowed.  Maybe someone went after them.  They used to abuse anything that wasn't manly or intellectual.

Feeling bad here, you all.  Look, there is no need to buy the book. If you want to read it, tell your library to order it. They may already have it.  I'm really not trying to sell books to MWF members. Chances are good that you've been following the process of finding an agent, selling the books, worrying about publicity, etc. etc. Reviews are a part of that -- my favorite part.  And I had to learn over the years how reviews are ranked and what they mean.  So I was just sharing -- and bragging a little bit, maybe.  Apologies for the latter. It's a vindication of sorts when the books don't sell as they should.
