Calling on all old-time MWF members
« on: June 07, 2017, 10:34:18 AM »

What do you say to us re-introducing ourselves as a way for new members to get to know us and for us to re-connect with other long-time members?

I'll start it off:

I'm Dave.  I'm a retired pharmacist with 5 finished but unpublished mysteries behind me and 3 in progress.

My favorite writers are Robert B. Parker, Michael Connelly, and Craig Johnson although I could list a dozen more whose work I enjoy reading.

Good idea, Dave. Activity on this site has been slow lately.

I am a retired crime scene investigator from a NY Sheriff's Department in 1989; was Security Manager for a large mall and highrise apartment complex; Director of Protective Services at a small college. Have many mystery/adventure and teen novella WIPs with a couple finished, but not to my satisfaction and unpublished (probably forever). And if anyone is looking for my advice, they better hurry cause I'm quickly forgetting more than I knew. :-[

Good luck to all our new members. We are here to help.

I'm recently retired from the Postal Service and have been reading and writing mysteries all my life. My publications have been mainly small press and on the internet, and I have a load of unpublished stuff!!

I've always liked hardboiled crime fiction (Ed McBain, Lawrence Block, Dennis Lehane) but I've been recently finding myself mellowing out. A few more cozies, and believe it or not, my wife has hooked me on a few romances.

I'm Jane and I can't believe that I was an energetic full-time teacher in an Israeli high school (did it for 45 years) when I was active on MWF! Since then, I've retired and published the mystery novel I asked for advice about way back then! Have written two for the drawer and am now excited about my current work.
Now I feel nostalgic about the site! Strange that self-publishing was termed "vanity publishing" in those days!
