I'm so glad you found the right dentist, Charmaine!
My dentist doesn't use lasers, but he's the same kind of caring and patient doctor as you found. He never treated me like I was an idiot for being afraid, or with contempt for letting things go for as long as I did (and yes, an earlier dentist actually sneered at me- contempt is not exactly textbook chair-side manner). I can go to my regular appointments (I have to have my teeth cleaned every 3 months) without any trepidation at all. And if things do hurt (as does happen on occasion), I think he feels worse than I do about it.

Yeah, I guess the moral of the story is -- keep looking! There is a lot of inevitable crap we have to put up with -- but bad dentistry is not one of them!
