Putting your birthday on the calendar without revealing your age
« on: November 01, 2006, 02:52:59 PM »

If you put your birthdate in the calendar with the year 0000, this forum will not reveal your age. Not that I'm particularly shy of revealing my 50+ years on this planet, I just don't like revealing my full birthdate on a public forum for security purposes.

Just wanted to pass this along. I think of birthdays as an excuse to have a party--even the cyber parties that we hold here at MFW--so the more we know about, the merrier!  ;D

Yes, it is kind of MWF to allow us to leave out the year, but actually, most of our birthdates can be found on the internet just by searching on Zabasearch, assuming your name is not so common.  I know my year of birth is out there, as well as that of many friends who I've searched for.  Of course, you can't find me under my MWF name, because it is my pen name...sneaky me!   ;D

It's also possible to reveal your age without revealing your birthday ;).  (Even  your birth-year can be partly disguised, since not everybody is willing to do the subraction ::), and since nobody can tell whether you rounded off, truncated, or what :-\, whether the birthday has gone by or not ???, nor even, for sure, whether you told a lie about it 8).)
