My first book, DEAD AT THE DESK, was fairly successful...locally...but the publisher of that book has since died and his company doesn't exist now. I have written a sequel to that novel and am considering sending it to the publisher who released two other books of mine (a memoir and a young reader fantasy)...but do I send him my first book...as though it had never been published...or do I send him the sequel with a foreward that is a synopsis of the first (maybe a letter from the protagonist to an old friend and tell about what happened in the first book)? Any ideas?

I would mention the first book (and its publisher) in the cover letter and offer to send the book or a synopsis if it is needed.
