I've been keeping my feet up a lot because I managed to sprain not one but both of my ankles. :o   Truly a feat of klutziness...or is that feet? ::)  As I told Dear Hubby today, "Look at this!  I have Cajun ankles and feet ...blackened."   ;D

Thankyou Lynette !!

I think there is a better chance of British Forces occupying The White House for a second time than there is of my entry winning thie grand prize of this New York based competition.  There is also the winner of genre to consider (short story) and lots and lots of names mentioned as runners up, it is the latter that I strive for; to see my name and story "mentioned in dispatches" would be a real boost to my confidence as a wannabee writer...  :)

If I hear anything I will let you know; if I win the grand prize I will shout it from the top of The Empire State Building !  ;D  I do love that building...The last time I howled like a British Banshee off of the top of that building I got told off... :) No one batted an eyelid when I did the same off of the top of The Twin Towers... :)  Tall buildings are for howling off of....Or is that just a British thing?.... ;D

Tony... :)

Tony, I shall anticipate their arrival soonest  ;D  Good luck from me, too  :D

I went on-line to pick up art supplies for a workshop I'm taking this summer and found a new twist on an old product.  There is now a watercolour palette made of bullet-proof glass  ???

Now my mind keeps straying back to it like a song that gets stuck in your head.

For when a gangster (inter alia) wants a picture window, surely.  In case anybody doubts you, one URL that applies is

P.S.: I couldn't resist sending this also to my artist/MI son, and he came back with both an explanation and a suggestion:
Had to wonder what that was all about, so I tried looking up this product from other vendors... here's an explanatory blurb from one; I infer that the point is not to stop bullets, but to provide a relatively unbreakable glass palette...but -
Dya 'spose it's possible that "Q", the CIA or MI-6 has equipped agents with truly bulletproof palettes, or maybe had 'em paint on kevlar 'canvas'...?...a "Bond" scene, with enemy agents rudely interrupting while James is painting a nude... well, that's what springs instantly to mind.  The possibilities are endless!

"Bullet-Proof Glass Watercolor Palette - This palette revolutionizes the world of watercolor painting, making it easier than ever to mix and create the perfect colors every time! In fact, this is the only palette in the world that solves the age old problem of seeing watercolors as they will appear on your paper. Unlike oil colors and acrylics, watercolors don’t adhere to aluminum and plastic palettes, so the color is not evenly dispersed throughout the water solution. With the Bullet-Proof Glass Palette, the color stays in solution with the water and you can see what it will look like on paper while it's still on the palette.. This greatly speeds the painting process and makes it much more precise. This 14” L ◊ 6.1” W ◊ .87” D palette has 33 wells and three divided mixing areas and one long mixing area. A water absorber allows you to remove moisture on brushes quickly while working."
