I'm writing a young (12-14) y/a, and I need to have a teenager fight back when someone tries to kill her. There should be some blood and she should believe her attacker is dead (though he's not), but she doesn't stick around to find out. (I think fondly of Hitchcock's DIAL M FOR MURDER, but the Grace Kelly character in the film actually did kill her attacker by plunging a scissors in his back.) Any ideas? Thanks!

Aluminum baseball bat? Field hockey stick? Golf club? Discus? Hammer (as in familiar carpenter's or as in hammer throw from track & field)? Any applied firmly to the head could knock the attacker out and produce more than some blood (head wounds bleed like crazy! Lots of capillaries under the skin.) If she hits him in the face, she could break his nose (again causing generous bleeding) and maybe knock him out or at least stun him enough that she could escape.
