How to do Historical Research
« on: July 02, 2018, 05:49:09 PM »

Forum Members,

I am writing a mystery novel that takes place in Victorian England, and I wonder if you have any advice on doing research for such a task. I specifically need to know resources for doing research, such as books that teach how to track down specific details. I've been looking for needles in the haystack, and could use guidance for finding them faster. Some examples of facts I search for are: articles of clothing worn, prices of various items or services, specific laws, specific place names, etc. I find it difficult to find such minute details.
