Murder Mystery Dinner Game
« on: July 12, 2012, 04:34:39 PM »

A group of friends has decided they want to do a murder mystery dinner game, and two of us are in charge. My counterpart wants to create it rather than buy one. We're working on it together, but I'd love to get help/advice from others.

Our theme is an award ceremony. There are 5 actresses up for Best Actress, one of them being a Meryl Streep type. She's killed between winning the award and the after party. Possible murderers: 1)a secret love child that also happens to be another Best Actress nominee. 2) the lover/stalker of the love child. 3) the love childs' twin brother who is also a paparazzi/producer/etc.  We're working on a list of characters like the award announcers, photographers, a director, costume designer, friends, etc. Would love some help!

i love these mystery dinners. my friend and i were thinking of doing one along the lines of the famous poet edgar allan poe, perhaps to his love poem annabel lee with a twist with the raven. i bet it was a lot of work setting it up yourself though. so i might be easier for him to just get a pre-done one.

There are two separate parts to creating a mystery party. The mystery and the cluetrail. The cluetrail is the important part. Once you have a cluetrail you can put it into a variety of different types of mysteries. The cluetrail is the part that bridges the gap between what happened and what appeared to happen.
