BLOODY WORDS 2007 - CANCELED
Caro:
I just heard today from the chair of BW 2007 in Victoria, BC, that she has canceled Bloody Words 2007. She seemed to be under the impression that the conference would be funded in large part by the government, though where she got that from, I have no idea. I do wish people would ask questions when they don't know something. Alas. :'(
Guess we'll all have to wait for BW 2008, which will be back in Toronto, at the Marriott Hotel with Rosemary Aubert as Guest of Honour. The new chair is brimful of bright ideas for next year. We hope we can make up for this disappointment.

Kathy Wendorff:
Oh, Caro -- how upsetting! And how irresponsible of the 2007 chair. My condolences.

Jonathon:
Nooooo! I was really hoping to go to this one. I've worked at science fiction and writers cons and volunteered to work for Bloody Words.
I wonder what it takes to run a con -- I've never been in the big seat, just security and VIP rooms, looking after the writers.
Maybe, one day, Bloody Words will be in Vancouver, BC.
Very disappointed

Caro:
I would love for BW to be in Vancouver.
I, too, am very disappointed. They had two years, and all the info we sent them. Oh well. Maybe next time in Vancouver.

It's just hard to get good chairs today. She wasn't in your league, kiddo.
I'm so sorry.
