A drug to subdue
«
on:

My character is in the hospital under police protection. However, the villain is a policeman and gets by the guard. How can I subdue to vic and walk him out of the hospital on his own power without attracting attention?
Thanks so much

Hi, EA
First off, why is the character in the hospital and how badly is he injured? That will affect how he subdues the victim. Let me know that and I can help you get him out past the guard.
And since you're new here, drop into The Welcome Wagon thread in Chat and introduce yourself.

He's not seriously injured, he's got a serious stab wound on his arm is all. They were getting ready to release him anyway.
Thanks

Hi, EA
Okay, just off the top of my head, the best way would be for the villain to dress in scrubs, approach the room pushing a wheelchair, and telling the guard he's taking the victim for X-rays or lab work or to the wound dressing department. Then bundle the guy in the chair and wheel him away. If the guard insists on accompanying them, he can inject the guard with a big dose of a short-acting barbituate such as secobarbital in the elevator, leave him out cold, and make his escape with the victim.
Just had another thought, though. Is the guard a fellow policeman or someone from the hospital's security department?
Hope this helps.

Both the kidnapper and the guard are cops. They don't know each other. If you want I can paste the scene here. It's pretty short. But you see why your suggestion won't work, though it's a good one and I might re-write to incorporate.
I looked for the welcome wagon. How do you get there?

Hi, EA
Sure post it here or give us a more detailed description of the scene. Maybe someone else here can see a way to make it work if I come up dry.
To get to The Welcome Wagon Thread, from the home page, scroll down to CHAT and click on it. The Welcome Wagon Thread is the very first topic. Click on the 21 after it, then go to the bottom of the page and click on Reply.

Hi, EA
Was poking around here and saw the last comment I posted. Did you ever post the scene you were asking about?
If you'd rather not post it here, you can post it in the critique section, or if you'd like, send it to me in an email to quillracer@hotmail.com.
