When you're at the airport in the USA, going through customs and immigration, what are those officers called. Customs and Imm. officers? Border agents?
Or are there different ones for the various tasks? I have a character who's been pulled away from the suitcase line and taken into a room but I need to know who'd be doing that.

The ones who go through your luggage are customs inspectors.  The ones who examine your passport and make sure you can legally enter the country are immigration officers.

Or are there different ones for the various tasks? I have a character who's been pulled away from the suitcase line and taken into a room but I need to know who'd be doing that.

They're Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers which is not part of ICE, but is part of Homeland Security.
